Helicopters and Glaciers - 1

OMG look what we woke up to







We could already hear the helicopters flying overhead - can you believe it ....talk about lucky.


We were kitted out and had the safety briefing.....











That is neat vodka in that bottle!!







This is our helicopter - we were in a group of 10 and we were taken up to the glacier in two flights...






I had a front seat - something to do with balancing the load..






and after flying over the rainforest we approached the glacier - it was amazing, we would never have seen this on a day's hike. We were about 800m further on than the hikers would reach.






.....and then the helicopter landed.
